WEDNESDAY: The day started with a fantastic all you can eat breakfast at Antonio’s. The students now understand why everyone raves about the breakfasts. Depending on how fast one walks, it can be anywhere from a 20 minute walk to a 25 minute walk to class each day. Needless to say exercise and food are big in Brazil. We were in class most of the day on Wednesday. We became familiarized with the computer lab, library, staff available to us, safety on campus, etc. We were introduced to the plan for building a website about the study abroad program.

Cristina taught us survival Portuguese in the morning and Professor Pedro Mello started his lecture on Economics and Sociology of the country in the afternoon. Cristina makes learning Portuguese fun for the students. Lunch was eaten as a group at a restaurant about a 20 minute walk from ESALQ and the price of the food is determined by the weight in kilos. In the evening we all went to dinner at a restaurant near the hotel.
